Thanks to all the competitors, Ted for organisation Gill for the catering and all who came to support the players.

Presidents Day 2019

After a rather wet start to Sunday, a good part of the green was passed fit to play with mats down.

The game was played in 100 up style and with teams of 5,each bowling only one wood, a great deal of fun was had. The actual winners on the day were:  Margaret Renouf, Keith Brown, April Weller, Bill Churchyard, Jill Dent.

Afterwards, a super ploughmans lunch was served.

An excellent social event for the club.

TBBC Open Days 2018

Recent Open Days on 29th April and 6th May 2018 saw a huge turnout of new and existing bowlers. A pre-season campaign creating awareness of the Totland Bay Bowling Club and the game itself had created a strong wave of interest from the West Wight community. This resulted in two very busy days and many new signings of membership.

All three Club Coaches were on hand to deliver the principles of the game and the green was full throughout the afternoons with a succession of people enjoying their first encounter with bowling.

TBBC members were in full support helping with introductions, setting up, training and answering the many questions. There was a real buzz of excitement throughout both days and the ground looked absolutely wonderful – a real credit to all who had worked so hard to make it ready for the start of the season.

Tea, Coffee and an abundance of lovely tasty cakes were in full supply together with a complementing bar.

Everyone said how much they had enjoyed themselves and we now look forward to welcoming the newcomers to Totland Bay Bowling Club. We hope that they have many happy years of playing the game of bowls.

The 5th April 2018 saw the Totland Bay Bowling Club held an exhibition on bowling at the Sports Centre in Freshwater. The event supported by many of the Totland League Team bowlers and Associate Members was widely publicised throughout West Wight and is the first of a number of recruiting events to be organised by the Club.

Wearing the new 2018 design of club shirts one could not fail to be impressed by the members enthusiasm for their sport and their commitment to encourage new recruits of all ages and abilities to join TBBC. The day was enjoyed by all in attendance and the club was delighted at the amount of interest received on their stand.

A further opportunity is available very soon when the Club has 2 open days on Sunday 29th April and Sunday 6th May starting at 2pm. If you would like to get to know more and try your hand at bowling you can be assured of a warm welcome and a fun time. Refreshments will be served throughout the afternoon and the bar will also be open.

Everyone at Totland Bay Bowling Club is looking forward to seeing you.

Defibrillator

A defibrillator has been purchased for the club and will kept in the clubhouse during the closed season and will be put in the Green room during April - September for easy access.
